In the article below it gives you a snapshot of who is this Tamara and why should I listen to her? You will learn my background and why I am here today on the web instead of working 12 hour days in the gym. I have been passionate about fitness since I can remember. In fact I started leading morning runs at 6 am for me and a few friends starting in grade 6!   We had no idea what we were doing but we did it anyway! I exercised and played any sport I could fit into my schedule. I loved it all.

Balancing my career with education, I studied at Simon Fraser University, acquiring a BGS with a double minor in Kinesiology and Gerontology; a Certificate in Health and Fitness Studies; and another in Applied Human Nutrition. These achievements, along with being multi-certified in Pilates and Personal Training, gave me the practical and theoretical knowledge and skill to provide a deeper, more profound understanding of my clients’ needs and helping them meet their fitness and wellness goals.

While some worked in fast food, my first job at 15 years-old was promoting gym memberships for Fitness World, earning my workout time as a perk. Finally I was allowed to work out in a gym! I was in bliss. The only work I have ever done is fitness.

I have worked in corporate fitness, women only gyms, government run programs for seniors, exclusive country and tennis clubs, private training studios. I love it all, training people rejuvenates me and makes me happy. I feel fortunate to have a job that I love and clients that are amazing.  I have been training clients for over 15 years and I continue to enjoy and find new things that energize my training and love for the field.

My life was touched by tragedy with the sudden passing of my father, taken by cancer far too early in his life. This effected me profoundly. I reassessed my life and future, realizing it was time to start a family of my own. Tragedy struck once more taking my mother and because I have such a flexible work schedule, I was able to care of my mother in the last 6 months of her life. Many of us have seen our parents succumb to disease and illness. Losing my parents made me realize just how fragile our life and health is. This is why I decided to stop waiting until I achieved the next goal to have children.

Since the passing of my parents and having children I have developed more empathy, and compassion for my clients. I also have  more drive and ambition to motivate moms to take care of themselves so they can continue to be the rock for their family. As well as teach and help their husbands and children lead happier, healthier lives.

It was through these life-changing experiences that I was inspired to create my own  training method for busy moms. By combining my personal experiences as a mother of two with everything I have learned throughout my career and education, I have designed a program specifically for busy moms to quickly regain or exceed their pre-children fitness levels. My programs are designed for moms that are busy need quick solutions that get results. Discover what you are doing that causes you to gain weight, learn easy exercises that will tone and lift your butt and stop your arms from jiggling. I know you know what I mean:)
